Gas Safe Registered

Client: Yorkshire Crisps, food manufacturer, Sheffield
About:
Yorkshire Crisp are an award-winning luxury hand cooked crisp producer, based in Sheffield.
The problem:
Due to growing demand, our client was required to install a new fryer in order to maintain production. Their existing gas main was not large enough to supply an extra fryer. After calculating the appropriate pipe size, Ormond Pipework Services recommended increasing the gas pipework from 2.5” to 4”.

Our solution: The first task was to decommission the existing gas installation, Ormond did this by using nitrogen to purge out the natural gas. Once safely purged, we were able to commence installing the new gas main. To avoid hot works and to save time, 108mm stainless steel press fit was installed.

Upon completion, Ormond did a gas strength test, tightness test and direct purge. Yorkshire Crisps then received a Gas Safe certificate confirming their new gas installation was safe and ready to use.

Specialisms involved:

Client testimony: “Very professional. We choose Ormond every time for our pipework.”
